If you have proven and demonstrable CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, or Powerlifting experience, you may be able to "test out" of this program and go directly into your respective program, however this is highly unlikely.**

Our Introduction Program consists of four (4) Private Training sessions and acts to deliver a comprehensive understanding of CrossFit, or the traditional barbells sports. This program can be seen as building a solid foundation for future success in your training and acts as an "on-ramp" approach, of sorts . The Introduction Program offers a seamless integration into a semi-private group classes, where the concentration becomes more refinement of technique and development of athletic capacities. There are three distinct tracks depending on what type of training you want to pursue (CrossFit, Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting).

CrossFit

We offer private instruction and small-group CrossFit classes daily. All of our workouts have the ability to be scaled/modified to virtually anybody's current fitness level, so there's no need to fear that you "can't do it". Our instructional methods and programming are designed to develop a comprehensive fitness level in each of our members. Certain areas of fitness can be targeted to help you better meet more specific goals you may have, such as fat loss, increased strength, power, or speed. Training sessions are 45 minutes long and during this time members will complete:

1. A warm-up/stretch period
2. Skill Acquisition & Development
3. Workout of the Day (WOD)
4. Warm-down/stretch period

All sessions are personally coached and supervised by one, or more, of our instructors. Each athlete will receive hands-on coaching and feedback regarding form, biomechanics, overall performance, etc. In essence, each athlete is receiving semi-private coaching and program design, without the usual cost associated with that type of instruction. The energy and vibe that a small group atmosphere brings is highly underestimated, but it is one of the cornerstones of the CrossFit exercise experience.

Baltic Barbell Club
(Strength Training, Powerlifting, &
Olympic Weightlifting)

We have come to believe that possessing an adequate level of strength, power, speed, and body mass will help lead to success in virtually any athletic, or life, endeavor. This is so because the needs of the athlete and the civilian vary by degree, not kind. We all need to be as strong and powerful for as long as possible in order to keep our functionality and utility.

This program focuses on developing strength and competence in the four classical slow lifts, the two classical Olympic lifts, and their necessary assistance movements:
1. Squat
2. Bench Press
3. Deadlift
4. Overhead Press
5. Clean & Jerk
6. Snatch

This program is intended for both competitive Powerlifters and Olympic Weightlifters, as well as people looking to significantly increase their strength, power, and lean body mass. We have assisted competitive Powerlifters and Olympic Weightlifters in significantly improving their performance in their sport, as well as young athletes looking to get strong. Much of the influence for our strength training programming comes from Coach Mark Rippetoe of Wachita Falls Athletic Club. He has authored such books as Starting Strength and Practical Programming for Strength Training, 2nd Edition. We also incorporate methods from famed Coach Louie Simmons of Westside Barbell in Ohio, and the crew over at EliteFTS.

The classic Olympic lifts have been used for many years to help develop power, strength, balance, coordination and speed in athletes in sports such as football, wrestling, track & field, hockey, and rugby. Being proficient in these lifts is critical to achieving a high level of success in CrossFit, and Olympic Weightlifting in one of the cornerstones of the CrossFit program, much like gymnastics and Powerlifting are. We templates from Coach Mike Burgener (Mike's Gym) and Glenn Pendlay, and Greg Everett (Catalyst Athletics).

At the Baltic Barbell Club, you have many different options for your training. You can take a pure strength approach, focus solely on Olympic Weightlifting, or have a hybrid program designed for you based on your goals, strengths, and weaknesses. Contact us, or visit our facility to enroll immediately!

SECT CrossFit Kids

The SECT CrossFit Kids program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, inclusive, and most of all FUN!. Our specialty is not specializing. Healthy living requires that our kids push, pull, run, throw, climb, lift, jump, effectively and safely regardless of whether or not they play athletics. The SECT Crossfit Kids program is not simply a scaled-back version of our adult CrossFit program. This is a very specific program designed for a very specific population - kids and teens. The primary goal is to develop an environment where kids can have B.I.G. FUN (broad, general, inclusive).

There is no other opportunity like this for kids in this area. No other comprehensive youth fitness programs are available in the region, either through the school systems, or community organizations. Area youth have a unique opportunity to be part of an international fitness program that is exploding in popularity.

If you, or anyone you know, has a child that would like to be a SECT CrossFit Kid, contact us as soon as possible. We are planning an Open House for the SECT CrossFit Kids program and will release the date and time when we have it set. In the meantime we will be posting info about the program here, or you can contact us and we will be happy to discuss any questions about the program you may have. Thank you and please help us in our quest to forge the future of fitness here in Southeastern CT.

Private Training

You have the option of scheduling 1-on-1 training if our current list of training times does not fit your schedule, or if you want/need more specialized programming and personal attention. Simply contact us or stop by the facility to arrange Private Training based on days and times that will work for you.

*Ages 13+ are eligible for all SECTCF programs*
